A bit late...

Found an interesting article today in the Biblical Archaeology Review (BAR for short...) on the date of Christmas. How did we get December 25th as the birthday of Christ? It's difficult to say, as those who lived in the time of Christ were not so much concerned with historical accuracy as we are; they also used a different means of counting the years than we do now. Let's not even get into the debate about what year Christ was actually born.

In my humble opinion, it is not so much the actual year nor the actual date that Jesus was born that is important, than it is that he was born. Here's a link to the article if you're interested.
